500 – Information Technology Policies
500.1 Acceptable Use
In accordance with Montana Board of Regents Policy 1300, the University of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø has established an institutional policy for acceptable use of State and University-owned technology system components.
500.3 Technology Steering Committee
ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø shall establish a Technology Steering Committee to review and coordinate issues relating to technology on Western’s campus.
500.4 Computer Lab Policy
The University of Montana-Western provides computer lab facilities for use by on-campus and off-campus individuals and groups.
500.5 Telecommunications
ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø provides telecommunications services as part of the State of Montana telecommunications systems.
500.6 Wireless Network
ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø will start to add wireless access points to the campus network in two circumstances. Open-access hotspots will be used to provide connectivity for the convenience of students. These access points will provide limited access to campus resources. Wireless connectivity will also be used in circumstances where hard-wired access is unavailable or impractical, such as for portable labs.
500.7 Student Electronic Communication
ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø provides electronic communication services to students and utilizes them as a primary communication mechanism between Western and its students.
